Rectangular mahogany table, supported on two cheeky supports held together by a turned joint, with a drawer in one of the long sides of the drawer jamb. The top has a wavy outline, with a platten profile edge, connected to the drawer with flanks. Supports composed of granular posts framed by escutcheons, forming a lyre, set on skids. The escutcheons at the bottom and top ended with volutes, decorated in the lower part with acanthus leaves. The joint in the form of two symmetrical bereaux joined in the middle by a nodus.
Condition: good; rubbing, scratches and minor dents; small cracks in veneer on top; loss of veneer in lower part of supports (on skids); two damaged buttons-knobs on supports; blistering of veneer in front right corner of casement and crack in left corner; drawer with withered bottom and damaged right slide.
Table with a lyre motif, characteristic of the Biedermeier period, serving both a decorative and structural function. Due to the wavy outline of the top and the woodcarving decoration of the supports (acanthus leaves and split volutes superimposed on the granular artistic elements), it can be dated to 1835-1840.
