Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under K. Stabrowski and K. Krzyzanowski (graduated in 1909), and then in Paris, Rome and Florence (until 1914). He painted portraits, landscapes and still lifes, including flowers, as well as paintings of historical subjects in the interwar period. His paintings were characterized by realism and decorativeness. He was also involved in drawing, book illustration, posters and stained glass. Before World War II, he exhibited in Warsaw's TZSP, the Institute of Art Propaganda and abroad, such as at the Autumn Salon in Paris in 1911; after the war, he exhibited at the All-Polish Art Exhibitions in Warsaw, among others. In 1950-1961, he was a lecturer at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (a professor since 1956). A permanent exhibition at the Regional Museum in Siedlce is dedicated to his work.
