In 1900-04 he studied at the Munich Academy and continued his painting studies in Paris (1905-10). After his studies he settled in Lodz from where he made numerous trips to Morocco, Algiers, Tunis, Egypt and Palestine. He also toured Europe - he was in Italy, Spain, France and Germany. He exhibited a great deal. As early as 1912 he presented his paintings in Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery, and also exhibited in Lodz and abroad in Palestine, Morocco, New York and Hamburg. He was a member of the Lodz ZZPAP. He painted landscapes from his many travels, genre and street scenes, still lifes and portraits.
