Józef GARCZYŃSKI 1866 Czempiń - 1939 Poznań Artist closely associated with Greater Poland. In 1886-91 he studied painting at the courses of M. Jaroczynski M. Krajewski in Poznan. He often exhibited in this city, as well as in Bydgoszcz, Cracow, Warsaw, Berlin and Paris. In 1901, he initiated the establishment of the Artists' Association in Poznan. He was also a member of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts and the Association of Painters. Graczynski's paintings reflect the sentiments of the artist, who mainly undertakes landscape subjects of his favorite region. The artist was also a talented portraitist. His works are in the L. Wyczółkowski Museum in Bydgoszcz and the Museum in Leszno.
