1888 - 1944 Warsaw
Painter and writer. In 1905 she began her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in 1911-12 she stayed in Paris. Pretending to be a man, she served in the Polish Legions. From 1926 a member of the TZSP, in 1938 she was admitted to the Block of Professional Artists. She participated, among others, in exhibitions: in Warsaw at the TZSP (1908 - 23), the Salon of Polish Modern Art 1920, in Krakow at the TPSP 1911, in Moscow 1913, in Vilnius 1914, Paris at the Grand Palais 1913. In 1925, the TZSP held a monographic exhibition of the artist (97 works). The artist's works, maintained in Art Nouveau style, are characterized by a mysterious, somewhat sentimental mood. She painted mainly with watercolors and oil paints, less frequently with gouache and pastels. In addition, she practiced drawing, created colorful lithographs, designed stained glass windows and painted on glass. She drew her subjects for her works primarily from fairy tales and legends, creating compositions of an illustrative nature.
