Czeslaw RZEPIŃSKI
1905 Strusow - 1995 Cracow
Student of the Free School of Painting in Cracow, studies at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under W. Jarocki, W. Weiss, and F. S. Kowarski. He continued his studies at the Paris branch of the Academy of Fine Arts under J. Pankiewicz. Member of the Zwornik group. After the war, nominated professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, four times rector of the academy. Exhibited in Paris at the Autumn Salon, had dozens of solo exhibitions at home and abroad. A representative of the forefront of Polish Colorism, he primarily practiced easel painting, but also engaged in printmaking, drawing and wall painting. He painted landscapes, still lifes and portraits with patterned backgrounds.
