Kazimierz WISZNIEWSKI
1884 - 1960
Studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Ignacy Pienkowski and Stanislaw Lentz (from 1911). He continued his studies at Konrad Krzyzanowski's private school of painting. He completed his artistic education at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts under Mieczyslaw Kotarbinski, Edmund Trojanowski and Wladyslaw Skoczylas. In 1924 he moved to Lublin, then lived in Puławy and Węgrów in Podlasie, and after World War II in Kielce and Cracow. In 1950 he joined the ZPAP. He was involved in printmaking, mainly woodcuts, with a side interest in painting and drawing. Thanks to his persistent work and in spite of his handicap (he was deaf-mute), he achieved a significant position in the circle of interwar graphic artists. He created landscapes, architectural views, portraits and religious compositions. He also produced book illustrations and ex-librises.
