Blackened wood, ebony veneer, gilt bronze, relics; 89.5 x 34.5 x 13 cm
Precisely executed figure of Christ presented in the form of a serpentinata figure characteristic of the work of Giovani da Bologna and Guglielmo della Porta. Attention is drawn to the carefully worked texture of the perizonium fabric. Placed relics of Roman martyrs and martyresses ( on the pedestal, including Mary Magdalen, Pope Innocent, Apollonia, Emerencia ) and the Holy Cross (on the pediment). Decorations in the central part slightly later, here relics of Pope Celestine, Celestine of Metz, Donatus and Modest - probably added in the Rhineland.
